The April 2024 bond plan is $47.5 million less than the November 2023 plan. The November 2023 proposal was for a total of $130 million and included a new high school( for 1200 students), improvements to the lower elementary school, and athletic spaces. Listening to our community. Right Sizing the proposal
Featured Frequently Asked Question: If the bond proposes a millage increase of 22, wouldn’t the total millage be 25.6? No. The current millage of 3.6 expires in December 2024. In observance of Spring Break, all administrative offices and school campuses will be closed from March 24th to March 29th. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, April 1st! Check out a special message from Superintendent Corley as we reflect on the valuable work we do to drive our core values and mission. Enjoy a safe and relaxing break! 🌸🌞 Dear students, staff, and families, Spring Break is finally here! This upcoming week, we're taking a break from classes, tests, and homework. It's a golden opportunity to step back, unwind, and recharge. Spring Break is a chance to prioritize yourself and your loved ones, which the daily grind often makes difficult. I want to express my appreciation for all of your hard work as scholars and educators. The personal standard of high performance and expectation of excellence that exists throughout our system is not just a source of pride but the driving force behind our collective success. All across our district, our students and staff continue to be recognized for excellence in so many different areas. It's a testament to the hard work and dedication of each and every one of you. Whether in the classroom, athletic fields, or extracurricular activities, the grit and determination to be better tomorrow than we are today is the hallmark of #TheDeSotoDifference. So, whether traveling abroad or staying close to home, I encourage you to take some time to engage in activities that bring you joy and relaxation. A recharged battery and a renewed sense of purpose will launch us into the final stretch of the school year, where I am confident we will continue to rise to the occasion and embrace every opportunity that lies ahead. Thank you for all that you do. Have a wonderful Spring break! For Students' Sake, Clay J. Corley Superintendent

The DeSoto Parish School Board is dedicated to being a good steward of taxpayer dollars and are committed to using our resources to provide excellent educational opportunities for our students. The cost to the taxpayer depends on the value of your home. For example, a $300,000 home in District No. 2 (North DeSoto) with a homestead exemption of $75,000 would have an adjusted taxable value of $225,000 which would be assessed at 10%. The increase from a millage of 3.6 to 22 would result in an annual increase of $414 per year or $34.50 per month. https://www.desotopsb.com/page/nd-bond-24-tax-impact
