Featured Frequently Asked Question: The State of Louisiana usually requires districts to wait a year after a failed bond, how is the DeSoto Parish School Board able to hold another election so quickly? The State Bond Commission oversees all of the bond elections and issuance in the state. They met on February 15, 2024 and voted to allow the DeSoto Parish School Board to hold the April 27 election. This approval is largely due to the overall need in the district and the large change in scope and costs to the previous proposal.
