4th and 5th Grade’s Bedsheet Fundraiser ends Wednesday! $35 for any size. They will be in before Christmas so these would make great gifts!

Congratulations to these SHS students for passing their Internet Business Associates certification in Mrs. Davis' class. They will now take Network Technology and Website Design. Once they pass all certifications, they will receive an advanced credential in Website Foundation. Congratulations!

The SHS BETA club had the honor to serve at the 2024 Desoto Parish Special Olympics at Logansport High School on Tuesday, November 12th. Their face painting and balloon art table was a popular hit with all the participants! The BETA club looks forward to this day each year. It is such a special event that we are proud to be a small part of. #StanleyServes #BETAClub #OneFamily

Mr. Jordan's AG students toured Weyerhaeuser Industry in Natchitoches, LA, where they were able to make connections of topics they are learning in the classroom to real-life work experience in the industry.

Congratulations to Alyssa Gooden for reaching platinum on ACT Workkeys. Gooden is a junior and reached Platinum her second attempt on the Workkeys assessment. She is one of our eight students rewarded with free dress because of their high achievements, and the only Junior to reach this milestone so far this year! Way to be the #DesotoDifference, Alyssa! You make us #StanleyPROUD!

Starting Monday, students can put money into the bucket of the teacher they want to see get a pie in their face during the pep rally on November 18th. Teachers in the running are Mrs. Welborn, Mrs. Lowe, Mrs. Jeter, Mr. Raybon, Coach Dayton Craig, and Officer Burns. We hear Officer Burns likes pie! :)

SHS Veteran's Day Program will be Mon. Nov. 11th in the big gym at 9:30. PK-5th grade Students may wear red/white/blue attire that is still in dress code policy (no holes, leggings, etc.) or they may wear Sunday Best attire. If you have a pic of a veteran you would like to honor/recognize, please email a picture of them to Mrs. Johnston: emily.johnston@desotopsb.com or Mrs. Walker: trinna.walker@desotopsb.com the name, pic, branch of service, years of service, rank.

In Mrs. Ward's Science class, students are learning about sound, sound waves/and vibrations. They created their own sound source to see if the thickness of the rubber band and the intensity of the strumming created softer or louder sounds!

Mrs Loftin’s class is busy exploring weather! They used what they have already learned about maps to draw the weather all around America. They even labeled their drawings. Way to go kindergarten!

Mrs. Petriello's dedication, creativity, and commitment to her students set her apart, making a lasting impact each day. Her passion for teaching and her students' success truly exemplify #TheDesotoDifference! Mrs. Petriello has only been at SHS for two years, but we are truly blessed to have her on staff. Mrs. Petriello is dedicated, and loyal, and works around the clock to ensure her students are getting her very best and the best education she can provide them with. Her passion for teaching, her students, and our school is evident not only to someone who has the privilege of seeing her teach but to anyone who comes in contact with her. Scholars in advanced math have been studying the characteristics of parent functions and their graphs. To assess their understanding, students worked in random pairs to analyze graphs to unlock a mystery code.

Students in Mrs. Ward's 1st grade class have learned all about Louisiana regions. After learning about the regions, they practiced using text based evidence to create “post cards” telling about the region they “visited".
