PTA News
Pizza will be served on Nov. 17th for students who participated in PTA’s Pizza Slice fundraiser. Our next concession sale is Dec. 1. Our next meeting is Dec. 4 at 6 pm in the cafeteria. Use the entrance by the bus parking lot.
DeSoto Hoops Registration Forms Due Nov. 15
The NDHS Lady Griffins Basketball team is hosting the youth basketball league, DeSoto Hoops. Registration forms are available in the NDLE front office. Games will begin on Jan. 20th and take place over 6 weeks. The registration fee is $50 which includes a team shirt. All forms and fees are due by Wednesday, November 15. Forms can be turned in at our school.
North DeSoto Schools : Election Day Nov. 18
Registered voters in North DeSoto (District no. 2) will consider a bond proposal for capital improvements in a November 2023 election that is focused on facilities that would grow the capacity of the schools in the area to address the rapid growth in the community. SPT (student-parent-teacher) Conferences Nov. 27
Students will not attend school on November 27th after Thanksgiving break. This day is reserved for conferences. Your child’s teacher will contact you through Rooms message to schedule a conference time.
PK and First Grade Christmas Lunch Dec. 6
We invite parents to dine with PK and First grade students for lunch on Wednesday, Dec. 6. Sign up information will be posted on our website, social media, and notes will go home in folders when we get back from Thanksgiving Break.
Christmas Santa Pictures Dec. 6
Cowen photography will be back on December 6 to take Santa pictures with our Little Griffins. All students will take a picture and bring home a QR code for parents to access and order photos.
First Grade Christmas Musical Performances Dec. 11 and 12
First Graders will perform the musical ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas by: Albrecht and Althouse using the words to the famous poem by Clement Clarke Moore. All students who attend the performance will wear Christmas pajamas because our setting is getting ready for bed on Christmas Eve.
Last week, speaking part auditions were held during Music class time. Mrs. Brawley will contact the parents of students by Rooms Message before Friday Nov. 17 when speaking parts are assigned. Students who accept a speaking part are expected to be at the performance.
Please note that Mrs. Burford and Ms. Warren’s classes have swapped performance times from the first note that was sent to parents. This was necessary for rehearsal scheduling. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
