ROOMS (Messaging App)/Class Dojo

All school-parent- teacher communication/messaging will continue to be conducted in the ROOMS app. Class Dojo will now be used to track behavior. Your teacher will send an invite to the Class Dojo app. If you have a question about your child’s behavior please contact your teacher through ROOMS messages.

Cafeteria News

All of our students can eat breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria free of charge. Breakfast begins at 7:10 am and ends at 7:40 am. K and First grade students should go eat breakfast in the cafeteria first then go to class. PreK students are offered breakfast in their classrooms. 

PTA Meeting

It is not too late to join! All parents and caregivers are invited to our PTA meeting on Monday, Sept. 11 at 6:00 pm in the cafeteria. You can learn how to get involved with our Little Griffin community. It costs $5 to join. Email tara.brawley@desotopsb.com if you have any questions.

Kona Ice Fundraiser

The Kona Ice truck will be parked outside the NDLE cafeteria on Friday, Sept. 15. Students can purchase snow cones for $3 after lunch. Please send 3$ with your child in an envelope or ziplock bag labeled with their name, teachers name, and Kona Ice. 

Picture Day

Cowen photography will be at our school on Wednesday, Sept. 19 to take Fall pictures. These are the individual pictures that will appear in the yearbook. Students may wear clothing of their choice. Make up pictures for students who are absent will be October 25.

PTA Concessions

PTA will sell concessions 2 times a month. The next date is Sept. 22. 

Donuts with Dad

Come have a donut with your Little Griffin student before school. Each grade level has a specific day (PK Sept. 26, K Sept. 27, First Sept. 28). This is an event sponsored by PTA and it takes place in the gym. Dads with kids in more than one grade level can pick one day to be with both students. 

ND Homecoming Week Dress Up Days

Monday, Sept. 25- Party in the USA wear red, white, and blue

Tuesday, Sept. 26- Should’ve been a Cowboy wear cowboy attire

Wednesday, Sept. 27- I’m a 90’s Baby dress in 90’s style

Thursday, Sept. 28- Teen Beach Movie Surfers vs. Bikers dress like a surfer or a biker

Friday, Sept. 29- Dress your class color, PK- white, Kindergarten-Navy, First grade-Red

Parents, No one piece costumes. Your children still must be able to go to the bathroom without help.

Chromebooks

Call the office (318)925-2383 if you are having any problems with chromebooks. There will be a $50 replacement fee for damaged chrome books and a $10 fee to replace a charger.

Spirit Days 

Students may wear spirit shirts with uniform bottoms (no jeans) on Fridays only.

Important Things to Know

*You are required to show your I.D. in the office when checking out students.

*Tardy bell rings at 7:45. Please walk your child to the office to sign them in. Do not let your child walk by themselves.

*The latest time to check out students is 2:30pm.

*Transportation changes need to be made BY 12:00 PM. Send a DATED note to your child’s teacher or email dena.salter@desotopsb.com and tracy.miller@desotopsb.com. If emailing, please call to make sure we received it.  

*Send any notes or money for your child in their folder. Teachers check folders daily. If it is loose in their backpack, it can get overlooked.

*Send money in an envelope or ziplock bag labeled with your child’s name, their teacher’s name, and what the money is being used for. Please send exact amounts. 

*Please label  jackets, backpacks, lunch boxes and water bottles.

***Please keep your child home if experiencing symptoms of illness. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school at (318) 925-2383 to speak with the school nurse.

Wed. Sept. 13- egg/sausage bites, cinnamon roll, applesauce, juice/milk

Thurs. Sept.14- sausage biscuit, pineapple chunks,, juice/ milk

Fri. Sept. 15- waffles, fruit cup, juice/ milk

Mon. Sept. 18- cereal bar, yogurt, pineapple cup,  juice/milk

Tues. Sept 12- bosco breadsticks, popcorn chicken, corn, carrot sticks, fruit cup, milk

Wed. Sept. 13- spaghetti and meatsauce, green beans, salad, garlic toast, frozen fruit cup, milk

Thurs. Sept. 14- chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, gravy, broccoli, dinner roll, applesauce, milk

Fri. Sept. 15- pizza, corn, veggie pack, mandarin oranges or banana, milk

Mon. Sept. 18- BBQ rib sandwich, sweet potato tots, corn on the cob, salad cup, applesauce, milk
