August Dates to Remember 

14     PTA Meeting in the NDLE Cafeteria *use the entrance by the bus parking lot

14     POPCORN Fundraiser begins *check backpacks for packet

15     First Day for  ALL PK, K, and First Grade students *morning drop off may be slow

18     Kona Ice Fundraiser *Students can buy a snow cone after lunch for $3

Important Things to Know

*You are required to show your I.D. in the office when checking out students.

*Tardy bell rings at 7:45. Please walk your child to the office to sign them in. Do not let your child walk by themselves.

*The latest time to check out students is 2:30pm.

*Transportation changes need to be made BY 12:00 PM. Send a DATED note to your child’s teacher or email dena.salter@desotopsb.com and tracy.miller@desotopsb.com. If emailing, please call to make sure we received it.  

*Send any notes or money for your child in their folder. Teachers check folders daily. If it is loose in their backpack, it can get overlooked.

*Send money in an envelope or ziplock bag labeled with your child’s name, their teacher’s name, and what the money is being used for. Please send exact amounts. 

*Please label  jackets, backpacks, lunch boxes and water bottles.

***Please keep your child home if experiencing symptoms of illness. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school at (318) 925-2383 to speak with the school nurse.

Chromebooks

*Call the office if you are having any problems with chromebooks. There will be a $50 replacement fee for damaged chrome books and a $10 fee to replace a charger.

Spirit Days 

Students may wear spirit shirts with uniform bottoms (no jeans) on Fridays only.

Popcorn Fundraiser

The Big Time Popcorn sale begins Aug. 14 and ends Aug. 28. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards student activities, such as field trips and incentives, and playground equipment updates. Check your child’s backpack for a packet with more information.

Mon. Aug. 14 -   Cereal, Yogurt, Pears, Juice, Milk

Tues. Aug. 15-  Pancake Dippers, Peaches, Juice, Milk

Wed. Aug. 16 -   Egg bite, Cinnamon roll, applesauce, Juice, Milk

Thurs. Aug. 17- Chicken or sausage biscuit, pineapple, juice, milk

Fri. Aug. 18 -     waffles or french toast, mixed fruit, juice, milk

Lunch Menu

 Mon. Aug. 14- burger, potato rounds, salad, carrots,, pears, milk

Tues. Aug. 15- burrito, rice, corn, salad, oranges, milk

Wed. Aug. 16- Spaghetti, green beans, salad, roll, strawberry cup,  milk

Thurs. Aug 17- chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, broccoli, roll, applesauce, milk

Fri. Aug. 18- Pizza, corn, veggie mix, oranges or banana, milk
